A work trip gone good

I figure that since this blog is titled "Life as a Wife" I should probably write about my first major wifely event that has happened since getting married.  My husband is a civil engineer and works for a really large international company and this week his district is having a conference in Bellevue, WA and the spouses are invited to attend.  {side note: Bellevue is one of the best places I've ever seen decorated for Christmas!}  So of course, being that this is our first time to something like this, our nerves were pretty shaky to say the least.  Little did we know that Nick would be in meetings all day which leaves me feeling like a fish out of water.  Luckily I've made some great connections with other wives here who seem to face the same issues that I thought I was the only person in the world dealing with.

It's been great so far.  I mean, I'm talking some huge perks here people.  Today I got to go tour a candy factory and got a bunch of free stuff.  Yesterday morning I won a gift card to the mall.  And by some fluke chance I took the prize at the Casino Night tournament and won ourselves a new TV.

And yes, with that streak of luck, I did go buy a lottery ticket.
