a couple of couple goals

Nick and I have decided that since 2013 is going to be our first full year as a married couple, we definitely want to have some goals to make it the best we can.

1.  Memorizing a verse each week is something we were doing for a while a few months ago and then with the busyness of things it sort of faded off of the radar.  So that is one goal we are anxious to achieve!  Generally we write the verse on a notecard and hang it up on the mirror and it's so fun to recite the verse during the week together and to each other.

2.  We've already started reading our first book and so far love it.  We want to be able to have something to discuss that will deepen and improve our marriage.  Besides who doesn't love John and Stasi Eldredge? {They also write Captivating and Wild at Heart}  Our goal is to read a chapter a week and talk about what we learned on Sunday evenings.

3.  These "Sunday night questions" are relatively new to us.  I stumbled upon them over here, and after showing them to Nick we immediately decided to try it out.  It has made such a positive difference on our relationship and how we communicate and pray for each other throughout the week.  I would encourage you to try it out!

 4.  Oh, running.  Nick and I love to exercise and we've been pretty religious about working out and running together ever since we've been married.  A few weeks ago we decided that we are going to do a half marathon.  So of course that means training for it.  Which sparks more ideas.  And leads us to our final goal- run 1,000 miles by the end of the year.

Oh 2013, you will be our year.

  1. Oh Jenn, these are such amazing goals. Memorizing scripture is the best way to fight the enemy! I love John and Stasi Eldredge. Captivating is one of my favorites, and I did read Wild at Heart to gain a better dude perspective:-)
Finally, I love to exercise too so I'm all about the running goal.
    So cool!

  3. Wow, 1000 miles together. That is like 2.75 every day for a year if you break it down like that! {Yes, I whipped out the calculator ;)} That is admirable!!!
